What’s Up?

There are so many things up . . . I’ve had little time for blogging.

I was thrilled to have recently won a giveaway from the lovely
Carol of Raised in Cotton. I won one of the latest issues of the Jeanne d' Arc Living Magazine. It is filled with gorgeous photos of Scandinavian French design. Thank you Carol!

I would love to have my kitchen look like this!

Some exciting news . . .

I was featured in the new Miscellany section of the latest Somerset Life magazine. This summer issue is truly beautiful and inspiring. I feel honored to be included in its pages. For those of you who have emailed about my shoes, I’m busily working away. I hope to have some posted by the end of next week! You can find a copy of the new Somerset Life here.

Meanwhile, I’ve been teaching myself how to embroider. The initial below is my first attempt. I used a chain stitch to create the monogram. I’m not sure if I did it right. I used a YouTube video for an example and it was difficult to see what theirs looked like after they were done.

And here is a sneak peak at some of my new paper ruffles. These pretties will be attached to one of my new shoe creations.

Lastly, thank you for all the lovely comments on our recent anniversary. We both enjoyed reading each and every one.

There is so much more I want to tell you, but I’m not even sure how to communicate it all. Does this ever happen to you? I hope to be back blogging regularly soon. Miss you all.

I missed you too Nancy, I'm happy that you are back. Congrats on winning the Jeanne d'Arc Living magazine. These are very popular over here too. And congrats on being on Somerset Life too. I have to see whether I can order it yet. Love to see your creations of course! I can understand why it is hard to find time to blog. And when you blog less it is harder to tell everything because there is so much, but the solution is that we don't know that. We enjoy your beautiful posts, just follow your instincts on this one. I am sure that everything will turn out fine that way. Have a nice day

Nancy I too am so glad you are back. Congratulations on all the wonderful things to come your way.
Understandable to be at a loss for words.
I must say my favorite part of your blog, is the fact you are teaching yourself to embroider. Your work is perfect.
I love monograms. They give a history to the piece you create. A family member a 100 years from now will know who held it, used it, and cherished it.
Congratulations again.

Bonjour Nancy!
I am discovering the difficulties of blogging regularly when you have a lot on your plate! My masters thesis and another large project are eating up all my time. I feel so bad! It is good to see you back. I will watch for you in Somerset--Félicitations! Anita

Hi Nancy, It's so good to have you back. I'm hoping the new issue of Sommerset Life is at the book store this week and I will look for you.

I love your monogram, you will find so much injoyment learning to do hand embroidery. Of all the needle arts I do, embroidery is my very favourite.

Love the ruffle and I can't wait to see your new shoes.

Hugs Karen

Oh, Nancy you are missed so,
I really do not think you realize how much.

I think of your blog as my weekly fix of all things beautiful…

I am so looking forward to the new shoes from your cobbler’s bench…
I use to embroider and cross-stitch all of the time.
I have a few unfinished pieces that are not done because of
damage that I have done to my right hand…
My granddaughter said that she would finish them someday as soon as she gets all the stitches down…my sweet girl.
It’s funny because I use to give and sell my work and I don’t have one piece to show for all of the items I have done…

One year, many years ago I embroidered all of my Christmas tags, it took me over 6 months of working off and on daily to complete…my mom had hers on her bedside table for years after.

Love the paper ruffles,

Louise

First off ...it is the general concensus that you have been sorely missed....however ...do not let that make you feel you have to blog...

I too have so much going on that my posts are few and far between... I have been working on getting my house put together so I can then concentrate on my art... creating... my website... I have amazing ideas but priorities come first.... I have noticed many that are beginning to feel that way.... those who can post daily ...more power to them... I am not one.... working on what you need to for you is the MOST important thing for you to do...

I do look forward to reading what you have to say when you can...it really makes one feel they are worth more in some ways... to cherish because they are interesting .... and not old and boring ... in a sense it gives one something to look for and get excited about... so... that being said..

Take care of you.... I am happy you are back for whatever time that is.... the rest will come when it can....

Love the embroidery... I have started back to working on that and some quilting ... soothes the soul... I used to embroider regularly.... however I am a perfectionist and if it doesnt look good to me I rip it out and start over... many times LOL silly me....

LOTS OF HUGS DARLIN...

Hi Nancy! It's been a while since I last visited you. I am so busy too I am finding I am posting about once a week this summer! That magazine is amazing! I have read it one time on my way from Switzerland to France on a plane of all places. I have not read or seen it since...I will have to look into that one. Thanks for the reminder hee hee. I hope you are well! I am looking forward to getting one of your amazing shoes this year. I put some VERY old ballet slippers under a cloche this past week (see blog) and I was hoping to put one of your shoes under a tiny one I bought for my studio! Please let me know when you have more made or we can collaborate on a custom pair! In Purples!!
