Weekend ~ The Comfort of Paper

I got up this morning in the quiet, needing to replenish from the hectic week.
I made a cup of tea . . . and reached for some comforting handmade paper . . .
Taking a large sheet of handmade paper I cut it into pieces, and fashioned a small book out of them. Then I tied the bundle together for a rustic look. I added a bit of romance with a watercolor heart, and on the other side, a small photo copy of one of my favorite antique prints.
I started writing this post to share with you all my little bundle of comfort, and realized hubby wasn't awake yet.
I then reached for some gold wire and paper leaves. I've always longed to have a gold laurel wreath. The kind you see in the museums. Well, that probably won't be happening any time soon, so I decided to make a faux wreath. Definitely not up to the standards of the Greeks, but it still brings a smile to my lips.

Those bundles of handmade paper are gorgeous. Your wreath has turned out beautiful, I am pretty sure that every Greek or Roman would achieve major goals when they could have won a wreath like that. If your wreaths were available then we would probably still live in Greek civilization! In short: I like it very much!
Have a lovely Sunday!

Ah...the early morning when your brother is sleeping peacefully; this is when I write, draw or make something out of paper. I love it all dearest. And the cup of tea, it tops it all off.

Much love to you this beautiful March day. Anita

Nancy I have always been enchanted by what you create. The wreath is such a lovely piece. I love the way you used these papers to express your need to create today. Just beautiful. And the cup you drink your tea from proves to me that beauty is a part of your everyday life. Isn't it the small things that are really the big things?

Nancy amor, I love your tea cup...who says you can't have beauty in your everyday doings :) I have to start doing that again, I always felt guilty using my pretty things by myself...but I must say...even a small quesadilla with avacado tastes divine on a lovely hand painted rose dish :) I love your hand made paper book and that laurel leaf wreath you made, I actually love it more than what you would see in a museum, because yours reminds me of gossamer wings...very surreal :) Amor thank you for visiting my blog today and I am so happy that you like my new blog look, because I think you have the most exquisite taste and knowing you liked it...means alot to me :) Besos, Rose
