Thank you!

I want to thank you all for the wonderful feedback you gave me on the blog. After much thought and your helpful comments, I've decided to keep my original blog template. I did change the text font color to a very light sky blue and the link color to a brighter pink. The light blue text is less glaring than the white.

There was something else that was brought to my attention in an email sent to me. The person in the email said they were really disappointed that I didn't display my blog follower button. I thought there might be others that feel this way so I want to explain why I've never displayed the follower button.

Early on when the follower button was first established, I had a few not so nice characters say they were my followers. When I realized that you could link back to their blogs through the button, I was appalled. I didn’t want my blogging friends exposed to that kind of stuff. I do know that you can block people from being a follower, but I didn't want to have to monitor my follower button.

I created this blog to share beautiful things with you and create a place of rest and inspiration for those who need it. I would never want to link to something that is the opposite. Maybe I worry about these things to much, but I hope you won’t mind that I'm not displaying the button.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

I leave you with some delectable eye candy.

that sounds pretty Nancy...i agree with you about the white background...but the blogger color choices in light colors are limited...and the white has always worked the best for me...funny, i just removed my followers button, not for the same reason although yours is an excellent one...i don't like that how many followers you have has become something of a contest...that is not why i blog...have a wonderful weekend!!!

Hi Nancy!
I am glad you decided to keep your is unique and clean looking to me...I love it! That first photo has my mouth watering...ooh...that is my weakness!
The follower thing has been a issue for me since the kind of makes me nervous...a friend helped me gray out the number..(not good in front of crowds)! I too, have had a few unsavory characters who I have removed and blocked. The only reason I keep it is that it makes it easy for people to follow along and they seem to like it...I don't know, perhaps I will remove mine too! Have a great weekend!

Nancy amor, I love your blog :) I think you need to do whatever makes you happy with your blog, it is a representation of the beauty that is you and no one else, we chose to visit because we enjoy this beauty :) I don't watch the followers numbers on my blog, I figure if your nice enough to visit my blog and leave me such wonderful comments that make me smile, then thank you so much :) the reason I follow my favorite blogs to keep up with their new updates...but I notice that feature doesn't always work, I have to re-add them to my blog roll the end I blog for me, my family and friends to keep up with me and my meanderings, the fact that someone is sweet enough to find them interesting is just a plus :) But I will tell you, I am soo thankful for the lovely people like you that I have "met" along the way :) Have a beautiful weekend! oh dear, you know what, I didnt even realise about the potential problem with the follower buttons, i dont really monitor mine either as I am too busy fluffing and posting on my blog to bother. Better check it out me thinks! Anyway your blog is one of my very favourite spots to land so what ever changes you make it is still totally gorgeous.
ps. thanks for the candy pics, nice and low calorie!

The delectable treats are a feast for the eyes, wonderful eye candy. I love your change. I too have had some not so good comments that I would not want anyone to get exposed to, so I changed my comments to blogger approval. I will have to watch the followers closer, thanks for the info. Have a great weekend. Florence

Yum! Oh but that is beautiful. And I'm glad you left your blog background, because I now see the plum and the brown in it, whereas before, it seemed dark gray. I had to view it from my husband's computer. I need a new computer, but I do see the prettiness.

I understand the need to keep the follower square off for another reason too. It looks busy and not serene. It flies against the mood you evoke. Kudos to you!

Hello.....I just found your beautiful blog. I would love to become a follower.....but I don't seem to be able to find out how on your blog. Would you mind visiting me and letting me know how I could do this?

Nancy I have always loved your blog background color and I am so glad that you are leaving it. I don't find it hard to read at all. I do find black hard for me to read and it makes my vertigo worse. Yes, I am a wimp that way. I think it is the harsh contrast between the background and the writing. I get so sick I can't stay on their blogs.
I am so glad that you brought up the follower button thing. I want to remove mine and have wanted to for so long. I am not out to collect followers and I feel that it might seem that way to others. I join others button because if I don't follow then I forget all the beautiful blogs out there that I would love to check out. It was a long time before I realized that one could follow by clicking the follow at the top of their blog. I'm a little slow that way. lol
Now I am off to remove my follower button!
Nancy you have such a beautiful place here and I am so glad that you have decided to keep it as is for now.

I like the light blue font. You're right it's less glaring.

Just as I'm starting a diet you post such delectable sweets! Oh well, those will be the only sweets I see for a while.

About the followers, I agree with you not posting it. I post mine and then when I see how many others have I feel like my blog must not be as good.
Recently I lost a follower and it bothered me because I thought I must have offended someone. Well I gave it entirely too much thought. Blogging is supposed to be fun, right?

I am glad that you have decided to keep your blog the same.
It is nice to come to a place of beauty and familiarity.

Hello Nancy,

I'm happy to see that you kept your blog as it was, though I'm totally convinced that if you changed it, it would be beautiful too! You have such a great taste!

I'm not having a follower button on my blog either. I think that there is too much 'trading' in following: if you want to win this or that you have to follow me and Oh I'm so popular, my followers went up to xxx! I just hate that. It is the kind of competition that I don't like, I wanted to keep my blog far from that.

We can all use our readers, so the follower button is an unnecessary gadget in my opinion.

Yes, I agree with the others, your blog is one of the most beautiful out there in blog land :)
Darn though, I gained back the five lbs I had lost just by viewing those photos!!! lol

I really like the new colors you have come up with for your blog... the pink is quite lovely and the blue very soothing.... its a wonderful refreshing change...

As for the follower button I have felt for quite some time (I am sure I will get *gasps of horror from many about this but...) .... the button rather reminded me of grade school way back when ....where you see how many Valentimes you got... and those that didnt were conisidered outcasts of sorts...or nerds..... Now of course you bring them for everyone in your class... but back in the day it wasnt that way...

so those sweets are making me quite hungry...
