The Little Things ~ Meandering Post ~ Happy Fourth of July

I love summer and the light that fills my home during this season. There are certain times of the day that are better to capture photos. When the light is just right it can be magical.

An Italian tray that sits next to my bed.

My sweet little fashionista. A few years ago while visiting my nieces and sister, they told me I was in a fashion coma. I have to agree. I really dislike clothes shopping and its like pulling teeth to get me to go to the mall. This little one helps to remind me not to be a frump.

This beautiful butterfly brooch was created for me by the amazing Miss Ulla. While my brother and SIL were here, we were able to visit with our beloved blogging friend.

This gorgeous little book was hand made for us by Anita, my SIL of Castles Crowns and Cottages! It is truly a work of art.

Is this paper not incredibly beautiful?

Another soft cover book created by Anita, based on a story written by my brother and then illustrated by her. To read the story click here.

Summer flowers in my kitchen waiting to be put in water.

These heart patches are my attempt to save my very worn matelasse cover on my bed. I have used this same bed cover for 12 years on my summer bed, I'm not sure I can salvage it this year, I have more holes than I can patch.

The end of my summer day always includes candlelight, no matter how hot it is.

I want to wish you all a very Happy 4th of July. Have a safe and wonderful holiday!

Here are some last minute fun 4th of July projects from Martha Stewart.

Enjoy!

I love handmade books. Looks like your whole family is incredibly talented. The book your sister in law made is stunning.

My sister teaches a course on bookmaking. There is a lot of interest in it.

Happy Fourth!

Nancy ma belle,

What gorgeous pictures and thank you for featuring my work; I have wanted to make books since my childhood, and it was such a pleasure to gift you with both books. We had such a lovely time, a memory that I will cherish forever and even put into book form soon. Love to you, Anita

Dearest,

Your comments were so heartwarming...again, the magic never ended, even at the AIRPORT!HEHEEEE....my poor husband was frantic the night before, and all I wanted to do was sleep through it!!!! But I have my mica and it sits on my mantel awaiting an application on something fun. Thank you so much....Anita
