Simple Christmas

This Christmas in our home there are few decorations.

It has been an amazing year of living with less, doing with less. As we unpacked our Christmas decorations this weekend, we sorted through them and kept our favorites and gave away the rest.

I promise to give you a peek at our tree. This year we'll be using non-lead vintage tree tinsel to decorate it. I'm so excited! I haven't had a tinsel tree since childhood.

Sorting through ornaments and giving away lots is something we have been talking about doing...hopefully we will accomplish that within the next few weeks! Thank you for inspiring me to persevere! Your photographs are elegant and beautiful!
Take care, Laura :)

Nancy, the simple elegance and the sheer beauty of a muted and softer decor is just stunning!!!!
I gave away a lot of red last year to simplify my grey and white and black Christmas and it made me so happy to unpack it...and a lot less time!!!
Love the look you have going here!!

Just pure white and some shimmer and I am set. Our little white tree is adorned in homemade vintage tags with silver glitter, some glittered birds and magic wands made in my atelier downstairs. The simple joys really are the best! I LOVE YOUR NEW HEADER DEAR ONE! BISOUS, Anita

Absolutely beautiful. You do everything up just right. We have finally found a house to move to, where my hubby has been working for the past eight months. A smaller place, and lots of downsizing to come. I gave away many of my Christmas ornaments and decorations to my best friend when she was visiting. Change is good.

I love the idea of shedding stuff and living only with a few treasures.

Kudos to you for doing that! I'm sure your life is richer for it.

Happy Holidays, Dear Friend,

Hugs,

Kate

Dearest Nancy! Thank you so much for coming by my sweet! I have missed you so....our building is finally getting underway. The foundation was set in early November and it was just a matter of waiting for the order of trusses and wood and windows and doors and finally, they are all in. Yesterday when we came home from work, all the building materials were in our yard, stacked up and the joists for the floor were actually started. SOOOOO, today, there should be more progress to be seen when we get home! LOVE YOU, Anita

How exciting for you!! I cant wait to see the beautiful tree... I know it will be elegant as your taste is quite excuisite...

I am actually going in the other direction as this is the first time I have been able to decorate a tree for myself in over 11 years andthe first time I have had a place to entertain in over four years... so I have gone bananas this year... bought a small Charlie Brown ...real tree and I am going to put up a memory tree (not real ) also with lots of neat decorations that belonged to my parents and my sister in their honor... though I will use a lot of the vintage ornaments on the real one... I am missing a lot of my decorations but will make do with what I have...

I admire you .... have the wherewithall to give away a lot of treasures ... I dont know that I could do it myself...

LOVE AND HUGS

Hi Nancy~
It looks like in your case Less is More!! Your are all about making things beautiful with what you have. That is one of your gifts.

A few years ago Pete and I gave everything...ALL of our stuff away What is interesting..... I don't miss it. Not one bit. Isn't that weird? Yet freeing and wonderful too.

Thinking you and beholding the beauty of your new banner!!
I feeling your BIG heart a thousand miles away!

Oh, I love the idea of living with less, but most of my "stuff" is stuff inherited from grandmothers who passed on...and it is so hard to part with...even if there are bins and bins of it.

But I love your clean elegance as always...

It all looks beautiful! And we are also making do with much less than we were planning. It really make me more creative though! And appreciative of everything!
