Merry Christmas

Christmas is almost here! The most magical day of the year.

The tree is trimmed and the cold weather has set in. We begin our weekend of holiday visits and last minute Christmas details.

Wishing you all a very joyful Christmas. May your day be Merry and Bright . . .

Christmas Tree

We had wandered for two hours when in a joking voice I said, "How about this one?" The tree looked strange with a long branchless trunk. The lowest branches were 6 feet from the ground. The tree stood up in the air like a lollipop, with that long bare trunk towering over us. It took us only a few moments to cut it down, since the trunk was at the perfect height to cut. We didn't even have to stoop over to do it. We cut down our lollipop tree leaving a 5 foot long stump sticking up from the ground.

I wanted to decorate with our vintage ornaments, but I was vetoed and we have a silver tinsel tree again this year.

Our family tree tradition includes hiding a golden nest among the branches.

This year has flown by! I can't believe we are half way to Christmas already.

Christmas Sparkle

This is my favorite time of year to decorate with silver and gold. I love these branches spray painted with gold glitter paint, and set inside a mirrored mosaic vase. The vase was a sale item at Michael's this year. As I was getting into the car, the bottom of the vase lightly tapped the steering wheel breaking the base into pieces. I tried returning it for a replacement, but the Michael's manager said they were discontinued. I decided to keep it and fix it. So far, my Krazy glued, felt-reinforced base is holding up well. I hope it lasts for a lifetime. I really think this is a fun vase.

A golden crown on a lace pincushion adds a bit of glamour to our holiday.

We get our tree tomorrow, I can't wait!
Have a Great Day

A Winter Wish

A Christmas cottage by the sea . . .

If not a Christmas cottage by the sea, then a place to dream of it will do.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last post.
I will be visiting soon.
