Those Macarons and A Sweet Luscious Weekend

So many of you asked if I made the amazing macarons in the last post. No, I didn't. The mini rose petal macarons, and the lovely beauties below were purchased at our local farmers market.

Get ready to drool . . .

Peanut butter and dark chocolate . . . rich, creamy, and yummy!

Sweet strawberry

Zesty orange citrus

Lemon, orange, and rose petal . . .

These pretty baby donuts were handmade by us.

I have to say it was a sweet weekend. All sweets were shared with friends. I didn't make an oink of myself!

DAY 14 ~ Fourteen Days of Romance

The colors I love the best for Valentine's Day are in this wonderful antique cup filled with pink foil hearts.

Turquoise blue, bright pink, and gold!

This bouquet of wildflowers is one of my most treasured possessions.
My sweet love brought them back from a camping trip.
They were blooming everywhere at the campsite and made him think of me.

Romance is wildflowers that recall memories of love.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Thank you all so much for hanging in there with me for my
14 Days of Romance challenge.
I couldn't have done it without you!

Some of you asked about the slippers in my last post.
They're pretty little doll slippers that I've had forever.
I'm glad you enjoyed them.

Now in the spirit of LOVE, it's time for a Giveaway
Stay tuned for the details . . .

Hugs to you all!

Day 11 ~ Fourteen Days of Romance

Candlelight by our bedside . . .

Most nights you will find the glow of candles in our room.
It's a wonderful way to replenish the soul after a hectic day.

Day 10 ~ Fourteen Days of Romance

Years ago, this beautiful paper cut-out was a gift for one of our anniversaries.
In our last few moving adventures, I thought we had lost it.
I was pleasantly surprised to find it tucked away amongst important papers.
It was originally part of a larger work.

This June, we will celebrate 22 years of marriage together.
The romance of finding something you thought was lost,
and having it evoke wonderful memories from the past, is lovely.

Day 9 ~ Fourteen Days of Romance

Day 8 ~ Fourteen Days of Romance ~ Compass to My Heart

As the moon kindles the night
As the wind kindles the fire
As the rain fills every ocean
And the Sun the Earth
So your heart will kindle my heart

Take my heart
Kindle it with your heart
And my heart cannot be
Kindled without you
Your heart will kindle my heart

Kindle My Heart lyrics from the movie The Little Princess

Day 7 ~ Fourteen Days of Romance ~ Friendship Bracelet Tutorial

A sweet friendship bracelet is a great way to show your love on Valentine's Day.

I created mine out of a 44 inch length of leather, and a beautiful silver ring.

The ring is a powerful symbol, a line that has no beginning or end.
For centuries it has been used to express devotion and undying love.

If you would like to make a friendship bracelet for a loved one of your own, here's how:

Cut the leather into two equal lengths

Make a loop at the center of one of your leather lengths by pinching it together

Place the loop through the ring

Bring the ends of your leather strip through the loop on the outside of the ring

Voila! You have one side of your bracelet finished!

Do the same thing on the opposite side of the ring with the other leather length, and your bracelet is complete.

Tie it around your friend's wrist, and trim the leather to the desired length.

I tied this one on with a bow.

Enjoy!

Day 6 ~ Fourteen Days of Romance

A fun tidbit of news. Greige is having a Rocq Macaron giveaway. Today is the last day to enter. They look yummy so don't miss out.

Pretty miniature perfume shell bottles

All they need is to be filled with my favorite scented oils

A romantic duet in my boudoir

Day 4 ~ Fourteen Days of Romance ~ Painted Perfection

An exquisite hand painted cup
It's perfect for sharing a romantic sip with your sweetheart.

A favorite creamer and pin. I took this photo a few years ago, but it's one of my favorite romantic pictures. A little Marie Antoinette.

Day 3 ~ Fourteen Days of Romance ~ Glitter

Glitter is romance to me.

I love making and receiving handmade Valentine cards.
This year my cards will have glittered bluebirds.

Spilled glitter. Love it!
