Hi Nancy,I grew up with the tradition of wrapping the May pole, and electing the May queen and court. I'd not heard of the giving of flowers, but I love it! What a sweet way to bless friends and neighbors. Your roses are gorgeous! Shhh, I won't tell the neighbors it was you.Hugs,Patti
That is so great, Nancy! I can imagine the delight once your neighbors opened the door.... :)These roses are absolutely gorgeous....love the painting behind them too...Hope all is well with you....We have spring weather finally! :)Have a splendid Mother's Day, dear friend!Sending hugs,- Irina
So sorry to be late, Nancy! How lovely your flowers look and your painting! I have a gorgeous one that Irina painted for me. I wish you were able to come out to visit so you can see it.Wishing you a beautiful Mother's Day tomorrow! Anita
I don't know anyone who actually celebrates May Day. I think it is a wonderful idea. You must bring such joy to your neighbor's faces when they see the beautiful gift you left for them.Being neighborly is such a lost art.
Hi Nancy,For the first time in a very long time, we didn't leave any baskets of flowers and candy this year. We were covered in snow on May Day and no one felt like tromping through it. One of these May Day's I am going to have a May Pole and sweet little girls for a real May Day celebration. Hope you enjoyed a beautiful May Day. Hope you are enjoying your spring also. My son is graduating this year and I am up to my ears in weeding and trying to get the house ready. I won't quite make it, but my lilacs are almost a month late this year, so my plan is to fill the house with them and distract everyone with the lilacs. Have a wonderful weekend!Kate
Only one thing, I wish I were your neighbor :)
Oh, I forgot to add, warm thoughts and hugs heading your way.
