It's a Holiday in Greece I Crave

Welcome to Castles Crowns and Cottages ~ Europe: Simply Irresistible Link Party

I had a dream the other night that I was in Greece. In that dream I was watching a play that was being performed out over the water. I could feel the breeze coming off the water and smell the salt in the air. I didn't want to wake up from that dream, but I did. Here is the next best thing to that dream and actually being in the place I've been thinking of visiting for years. I have visions of living a bit like a mermaid. I'd wake up in the morning, swim, and explore all day long. I'd watch the moon rise over the waters, allowing myself to be lulled to sleep by the gentle lapping of the water against the shore.

Or. . . I could settle for a little of this. . .

While I'm wearing this . . .

And I'll make sure to rest in some of the most beautiful rooms I've ever seen . . .

And I will be sure to shop a bit and dance a Greek dance in the street . . .

And at the end of my day, I will travel down a private corridor . . .

I will pass beautiful doors with amazing antique knockers . . .

And my path will end at a quaint Greek home . . .

Where I will lay my head on a beautiful white fluffy pillow and dream of another day in paradise.

Oh Nancy....you and me both. Do you know that since I was little, I always imagined going to Greece on my honeymoon? Carmel with your brother, however, was magic and I'd never trade those memories. BUT! Greece is still on my list of must-see spots on this globe of ours, and your dream, what a lush dream. I think what attracts me to Greece are those perfectly aqua beaches and the contrast of the stark white homes. Those bedrooms are my idea of a peaceful rest, and the food? OH YEAH! Let's dance dear sister, to the tune of our dreams. Love you! Anita

Chère Nancy! Thank you for stopping by today, and I have MANY European dream destinations, for many reasons. The canals and tulip fields of the Netherlands are one thing, but the grace of several Dutch friends both in Blogland and HERE in Minnesota has compelled me to study the language and dream of going there. Let me tell ya, Dutch is NOT easy to pronounce!

My dream however is to be in Paris with you. To see your eyes light up in Versailles, in the cobblestone streets and lush shops...yes, I dream of that. Let us know if you are up to it next summer when I go.

Have a super visit to the other links! Anita

Nancy, this is a beautiful dream. I always thought I would spend time in Greece, and the way you describe spending the day like a mermaid really agrees with me, as mermaids are my favorite talisman. I think your post is perfection and so glad I found your blog! Hope you will stop by, I'm also part of Anita's lovely party.

Oh, the feeling of peace that came over me viewing these heavenly images. All of them, except for image #12. I'm a bit of a klutz, so no.12 made me a little queasy.

In any case, I'm glad to see you blogging more. But I'm embarrassed that I haven't had time this summer to dust off my sad blog. Sorry dear.
