Marie Antoinette and Her Shoes

It all began with the movie Marie Antoinette starring Kirsten Dunst.

Then I found a miniature tiny leather shoe that intrigued me. I wondered who in the world could have fashioned it and why.

I’m fascinated by beautiful shoes!

What’s really strange is that I don’t own very many pairs of shoes and definitely nothing like the confections made in the Marie Antoinette movie. To me a beautiful shoe is like artwork.

So armed with my imagination… I created these two shoes that I hope Marie would have been proud to wear, hopefully the first two shoes of many from my new line called Confections de Marie.

Please peruse the pictures below. I hope you enjoy.

Also, a shoe I will design in the color of your choice (pink, white or green) will be included in the giveaway starting tomorrow celebrating my 50th blog post. Please stop by tomorrow to see the goodies and leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway. Thank you all for being so supportive and wonderful!

If you are interested in the lovely vintage wallpapers used on these shoes... they were purchased from the lovely Heather at Pretty Petals Boutique. Thank you Heather!
