Great Aunt Caroline

I love being a part of this blogging community. The best part of blogging for me is being able to partake in the special events that go on in others lives.

Karla over at Karla’s Cottage has a Great Aunt Caroline who is turning 100 years old on June 26th! Karla would like to gift her Great Aunt on her very special day with 100 hand made birthday cards!

Here is a photo of Great Aunt Caroline in her youth.

Doesn’t she look like a starlet?

When I saw this photo of Great Aunt Caroline, I was struck by her elegance and beauty. I made the card below to help Great Aunt Caroline celebrate her day.

Inside of the card

If you are interested in this lovely project visit this post here.

This link here is for the flicker group that Karla is creating as the cards come in.

I only wish I could be there to see Great Aunt Caroline’s face when Karla gives her the cards.

What a remarkable woman and such a beauty as only woman born in her era can be. Like my MIL who was 99 last week, Great Aunt Caroline is a national treasure to be looked on with both enormous affection and with gratitude that there still remains, through her, a living link with this bygone age.

Your card, so beautifully put together, is a delightful college of thought provoking and sensual images :>)

The card is spectacular! I particularly love the inside--what a fanciful treat!

Great Aunt Caroline reminds me a bit of a young Olivia de Havilland, from the side at least.

Hi Nancy!
You are so talented and so clever! It takes such a special artistic eye to create cards. I stare at my materials for card making for an hour before I come up with something simple! I am going to make one for Aunt Caroline also. Great idea to post it!
Hugs, Sherry

I had full intentions of coming by to thank you formally for the wonderful give away package before you saw my post. I truly do love everything in it! I would like to ask you to pray for my beloved grandmother that you read about in my post today. I have just received news that she is being taken to a hospital up north and I must go to her. I will send proper thanks when I return. Much thanks.
