Elegance

I love elegant things. When I decorate, I use feminine touches. The simpler and prettier, the more I like it. My eyes seek out curved lines, gentle colors, and age worn items.

Some fun finds

A pink vintage pin and Marie Antoinette brooch

These pink little doll shoes with silver tone buckles are so sweet

When I was first married, I was advised that I should just buy cheap items that I could afford, and one day I would be able to upgrade. I’m glad I didn’t take that advice. I would rather have an empty space than fill my home with stuff I’d eventually throw away. I’ve taken my time and only bought what I love. Living in empty rooms isn’t so bad . . . and it gives you an opportunity to explore your creativity.

This French mirror is the perfect plateau for the doll shoes or the pin below.

Enjoy your weekend!

I love the elegant touches that you add to your home.
I thing you were smart to collect what you love,

Amen, Sister. I too, would rather do without than rush ahead. There are serendipitous surprises everywhere. You just have to watch for them. Sometimes they sneak up behind you and surprise you. Beautiful pictures of lovely treasures. It's always a pleasure to visit.

What a beautiful brooch. It's too bad people have stopped wearing them.

The shoes are lovely. I totally agree with you about buying quality items--my husband and I sometimes feel like our place is empty, but I would rather have just a few things than a bunch of junk that would fill a landfill someday.

Have a great weekend,
Margaret

Nancy,
I agree, I'd rather have nothing on the walls or tables until I have something I truly love.

I am in love with those shoes! I too agree with living without until you find the perfect thing...it is an expensive lesson to learn.

Nancy,
I just adore that Marie brooch! And doll shoes have always been one of my favorites..it's amazing how sold separately they can cost as much as the doll..especially the French one of course. :)
Maybe we'll get lucky and find a pair or two in Paris. :)
