I spent this weekend cleaning up from a trip we took the weekend before last. We don’t often take trips these days, so it was a special treat. The only problem was the amount of gear we had to take with us. It was pretty overwhelming and everything was dirty when we got home. I guess it’s a small price to pay to be able to venture out of our own backyard and have an adventure. Sprucing things up after the trip gave me an opportunity to take some photos of our clean home. Though it won’t stay like this for long. I don’t ever show photos of our scary messy home. I’m not brave enough for that.
In the hallway a basket and floral market tote. The basket is usually filled with clean towels. They were all in the wash during this photo.
Pink Roses and Gold
I'm loving this color combo right now.
I’ve discovered that I enjoy displaying greens almost as much as I do roses.
This lamp is one of two. They're from my MIL. They just needed a shade update to make them work for us. We were in darkness in our front living room-bedroom area. Now these lamps provide a more cheery atmosphere at night.
Seashells in a $4.00 vase! I found this amazing vase on sale at Safeway after the holidays. It’s not the best quality. The silver lining will rub off if you're not careful, but it’s great for displaying shells.
Candlelight made a relaxing ending to a very busy weekend.
I want to thank all of you who take the time to visit here. It’s always fun to see who has come to enjoy this space with me. Wishing you all a beautiful week and weekend!

Very pretty hanging glass candle holder. I love hanging candle holders. I bought a second one, this weekend, when we were over at the coast. I bought one several years ago and found that the shop had some more in - yea me. I posted pictures yesterday on my blog if you are interested.

Such lovely photos! I agree about coming back home and all the unpacking, cleaning, etc.
Not fun, but necessary.
You have a lovely home!
These photos take me back to last summer which was so magical for me....I so want to go back to see you and then head to Carmel....lovely dearest, every single inch of your chateau. BISOUS, Anita
You are a very smart person not to show a mess, ever, unless you're striving to make a point. It's nice to show such pristine cleanliness and stark beauty in time for spring's arrival. These are soothing, elegant pictures. Thank you for sharing them.

You are an exquisite photographer! Seriously they're so beautiful it's almost painful. I would never share all of my house either. *winks* Vanna

All your shots are fabulous. Such a wonderful look into your elegant world.
That hanging glass candleholder is spectacular!
Hi Nancy,
I'm so glad you had a nice getaway. Your photos always have a quiet dreamy quality to them.
I think you SHOULD scare us sometime with your everyday life house... maybe at Halloween? :D
Hugs,
Kate
Hi Nancy.
Love your decor. I'm sure you know that you've inspired us, and that our new two room addition has your touch all over it.
The Swedish pancakes look fantastic.
MISS YOU.

Lovely.....

You have some of the most beautiful treasures ... so gorgeous ...
I love the colors too ... gray tones have become one of my favorite colors right now ... soft pastels seems to compliment that ...
Beautiful!!
Hi Nancy,
Glad you were able to sneak away for a beautiful weekend. Once again I loved seeing pictures of your home. That pink bag in the background with the basket and your scrumptious table is just to die for. Pink is a major factor in my bedroom also. (Which is quite funny as my hubby has way more than his fair share of testosterone.)
I need to get a new camera, I miss taking pics of my home, if only for the sake that I get a clean home in the process!
Enjoy this weekend! We are now getting a mixture of snow and rain. Doesn't seem fair to get them both at once!
Kate
Good evening precious sister...thank you for coming to visit today. Yes, heavy hearts and all we can do is reach up and weep, and hope. Blessings to you, Anita
Whenever I come home from vacation, the very first thing I do is laundry. And quickly, my laundry room ends up looking like the remnants of a Kmart after Christmas sale.
If said room were as organized and charming as yours, I'd probably camp in there.
Every corner of your home is a treat for the eyes!
Welcome home Nancy.
Nancy, I completely adore that first photo with the vintage daisy tote, the basket, the pretty table and shells.
