I’m always intrigued by what can be made with it. I haven’t had much time to create lately with my busy schedule, but today the creative voices were speaking to me. The alluring whispers would not go away and my thoughts turned to ethereal flowers made of delicate tissue paper. I took a little time in the late afternoon to indulge them.
Right now my Hubby and I are trying to keep expenses down. Paper flowers are a wonderful and inexpensive way to decorate for Valentine’s Day.
I paid $1.49 for the tissue paper, 99¢ for the floral tape, and 50¢ for the floral wire. All this came to a grand total of $2.98 plus tax. With all these supplies I can make 30 to 50 flowers depending on the style and my stamina.
Romance at its height . . . a deep red paper flower glows against the simple white muslin.
A few years ago I went on a flower making frenzy. I gave them all away except for this rose. The links I used for the paper flowers above can be found here, here and here.

Nancy, your paper fleurs are very beautiful, I too have made many hundreds of paper flowers. Most of the balls, school events and fund raisers that I style and decorate I use paper flowers (as the budget is so low) and with the help of all the the many volunteers who turn up to help it is wonderful to watch them grow so quickly. They are amazing, and as you said quite rightly, very inexpensive.

What wonderful sweet blooms…
When I was a teen , I decorated my room with tons of paper flower …
Many were made into mobiles that hung in almost every space.
And many more were taped to the walls…
I think back how patient my mom and dad must of been with this or maybe amused.
I did this in a brand new house. a few years later when I wanted to change it all my dad had to hire
a painter to fix the walls and paint.
For years they talked about the flower room…
When we built our home my mom asked me if I would let my daughter decorate her room as I did,

I do believe alot of americans are watching their spending ... it is a good thing for creating... we seem to do our best when we have to work harder... Its a good thing.

I too have made bunches of flowers. A kind of roses made out of crêpe paper. We used to put them in our room at work. At that time I was working with the Dutch parliament and my collegue and me were having a room on the ground floor. On the other side of the street was the Maurits huis, one of the most famous art museums here. So we had tourists passing our window and stopping and oohing and aahing all day. That was so much fun, we were almost tempted to sell our roses from the window, but alas...our boss didn't agree. Mmm I could have had a succesful business by now ;-)

I have loved paper flowers ever since I was a little girl and my dad bought me a great big one made of tissue paper at the high school halloween carnival. Yours are so lovely that it makes me want to make some... maybe I will.
