Looking for Beauty

It's been pouring here all week. Every time the sun pops out, I rush to the window to feel it's warming rays.

When the sun made its appearance behind a vase of flowers, I grabbed my camera and took a photo. These flowers are called Alstroemeria. There is a wealth of meaning in this sweet little flower. During Victorian times, if it was given in a bouquet, it meant friendship. Today it represents the words: aspiring, devotion and prosperity.

Lovely words to represent the character of this flower. I hope you enjoy its beauty.

Alstroemeria are wonderful little blooms.....so many color combinations and such a long vase life. Beautiful pink bouquet of sun kissed cheer.

Love your new header! Alstroemeria's are quite popular over here too and they deserve that popularity. Of course here in the Netherlands the flowers are cheap as we are one of the worlds largest flower producing countries in the world. When I take the train I often see an enormous glass house with "Alstroemeria, the flowers of the future" painted on it!
Have a lovely day!

Hi Nancy!

Good for you for capturing "the Moment". I hope you aren't being swept away by all that nasty weather. The sun will shine for real, soon enough.

Hugs,

Kate
