Tender Heart

I have a tender heart these days. I’ve been reflecting on many things. I don’t want to compartmentalize myself, and miss the important connections in life. I want to gather it all together, the past, the present, and future, into my everyday moments, to linger in that continuity of hours, savoring all those seconds.

Keeping life in perspective is important. Perspective: meaning to take everything into account, creating a clearer picture of what we are seeing and experiencing. Living a fluid lifeline. I love that. I need that. A view that accounts for what has happened, what is happening now, and what may happen tomorrow. It gives me a steadiness and hope for all times. It’s Life, after all, and I want to live it to the fullest.

Oh Nancy, how true. Everything we have been, are and will become is part of the gift. Take it all in for we are forgiven, we are to be celebrated, and we are challenged to use WHO WE ARE to give God glory...lovely read my dear and I LOVE YOUR PICTURE...you still look like the homecoming princess from you know where! Nancy,
You and I are on the same wave. I read this post and thought, "God, this is EXACTLY how I feel." This takes conscious, habitual effort, what you're describing, because our world has become precisely one of fragmentation and compartmentalization on a scale that's hard to imagine at any other time history.

I am trying to build new habits of virtue -- well really old habits of virtue that would be new if they became part of my being.

It takes conscious, consistent effort to see, take, understand, and learn from all of life in our life. I am tired of see only pieces. Like you, I need all of it.

Love to you et al
Ruben

Oh Nancy you steal my heart with words to live by. I too feel as you, living life and walking right into it :)

Thank you for your visit, I want to tell you the piece behind the drop leaf it is French and is imported from France when I designed a very large estate model home I had a container shiped of great finds. This piece and a few others I kept for myself.

Here is what I had done with the piece...It was a bright over painted blue, ocean blue and I stripped it down with "easy strip" stripper, scraping it off and cleaning it with mild soap and water with fine steal wool leaving just the right hint of blue in the crevices and cracks that I so welcome.

I tehn clouded the edges with a soft gray paint like w white wash leaving the whole piece in the natural raw finish, you see wood was meant to breathe and it is doing just that.
Look way back in my older postings you will see that I have done just that to my kitchen dinning table.

be inspired and please share the outcome of your French piece.
Will see you over at Anita's Paris party May 28th and hopefully before.
xoxo

It truly is the most joyous way to live live Nancy. I often wonder how long it would have taken me to learn this had I not had my great teacher (Landon) who lives his life in the slow lane everyday and never misses the joy of it.
I love your heart...bless it!

Nancy, your words are as sweet as the picture.
We share very similar views on life. Only difference is, you are able to put it into words that feed our very soul, whereas I simply reach for chocolate :)

I'm beyond help.
