Christmas Tree

We had wandered for two hours when in a joking voice I said, "How about this one?" The tree looked strange with a long branchless trunk. The lowest branches were 6 feet from the ground. The tree stood up in the air like a lollipop, with that long bare trunk towering over us. It took us only a few moments to cut it down, since the trunk was at the perfect height to cut. We didn't even have to stoop over to do it. We cut down our lollipop tree leaving a 5 foot long stump sticking up from the ground.

I wanted to decorate with our vintage ornaments, but I was vetoed and we have a silver tinsel tree again this year.

Our family tree tradition includes hiding a golden nest among the branches.

Porcelain white roses in snowflakes

Glitter snowflakes hang from our beams

A spot of color in our vintage satin ornaments

This year has flown by! I can't believe we are half way to Christmas already.

Oh Nancy, the tree looks splendid. I only wish we could be there with you to see it. Simple is the best, but this is NOT as simple as some may think, for the WAY you decorate and the way I am loving it now, is so soothing to the eye and imagination. BRAVO MA BELLE! HUGS AND LOVE, Anita

Nancy,

Your tree makes me miss tinsel! It was my favorite part of decorating the tree when I was little, I loved flinging it onto the tree and watching it magically drape and sparkle over the colored lights. So pretty but not so practical on the artificial tree I have this year!

Everything looks so beautiful!

Oh how I long for tinsel on the tree again Nancy. Your is beautiful! That was always my favorite part of decorating my childhood tree. My mother had a way of placing it so beautiful on the tree and it made everything magical, just like your tree. It is beautiful my dear. As is all of your decorating. I loved the silver balls hanging from your chandelier and the silver garland behind it. You have such a lovely touch Nancy.
I want to wish you the Merriest Christmas yet!
hugs from here...

Dear Nancy, I do believe you have captured the essence of your "romantic simplicity" here!
What fresh beauty...
I adore tinsel, but have a hard time finding the "real" stuff.
Just gorgeous.
