My Big Girl Blankie: I Love it!

First, I want to share the romance of this glass and its lovely engraving. It’s my favorite candle holder.

I posted this photo a while ago of our old white matelasse coverlet. I have a soft spot for this coverlet as it has been our tried and true summer coverlet for 13 years. I think I mentioned that it has been turning up holes here and there and I have been patching them with heart patches. Unfortunately, 4 weeks ago after a washing, I noticed a huge hole in it. I was so bummed! I couldn’t find anything I liked in a matelasse in our price range and nothing in our price range was very attractive.

This last weekend I was at Tar-jay (Target) with my hubby when we came across this wonderful Shabby Chic (Thank you, Rachel) Big Girl blankie. It’s the best blankie ever!! I feel so comfy and cozy in it. I find myself touching it as I pass my bed. I think I’m a bit obsessed. It comes in white, moss green and this wonderful champagne pink color. It makes making the bed a snap. I leave it a bit bumpy, loose, and squishy. Are you getting my hints here? Seriously, COZZZYYY!!

I don’t have a bed skirt on my bed. I put a fitted bed sheet with tiny yellow daisies on the box spring.

I can be found here, curled up in my Big Girl Blankie.

Totally agree about this blankie! I bought one for my dd for her bed and she loves it too, it's the softest thing I think I've ever felt. And it washes up beautifully too, no pilling or anything...

Nancy amor...Isn't that big girl blankie just the bomb! ;) I have the same one...in PINK of course..and I roll myself up into it like a cocoon and sleep like a lil bebe on those cold nites...Don't feel sorry for my amor...he has his own blankie ;) lol But my girls loved it so much and kept threatening to "borrow" it (& they are not PINK girls)so last Christmas I got them each their own in mint green...even on nites when it isn't so cold...I hug it and rub my face into it...I would probably purr if I knew how...hmmm Le purr??? or I wonder how to say it in Italiano?? ;) Enjoy your blankie my bella and when you wash it and then dry it, you will have to keep opening the dryer and unwinding it or it will take HOURS to dry :) Oh & p.s. I am drooling looking around your bedroom ;) Love & hugs my bella amiga :) Besos, Rose

Oh yeah....I know the feeling...I found an incredible deal at IKEA here in Minneapolis. It is a white coverlet with a sort of bubble texture to it...not only is it beautiful, but rather warm and cozy, even if it is summer,it is so comfortable! ENJOY and take in a nice cup of tea....is it raining chez toi? It is pouring here and it is wonderful. Sending lots of love, Anita

Ooooh Nancy that blankie is gorgeous. I could sure use it this morning, as it was only 48 this morning here. It had turned off so cold and snuggling in that would be just wonderful. I may have to make a trip to Tar-jay myself. Your bedroom is truly as beautiful as I would have imagined. I am sure that you make everything in your life a thing of beauty. Your pictures are like a dream in this post.

I am hoping that everything is well in your life.

Love your new banner, very stylish! My husband and I lit the candles tonight for the first time and had some beautiful music while we were sitting in our comfortable chairs. Do you know that I think that I love the earlier nights, my husband told me. I think so too, but the cold should be taken away with father Christmas. Love the Big girl blankie! Today I saw a special blankie that has sleeves on top!

I bought 2 pink and one green 2 months ago. One for my daughter's room and 2 for any guest/sleep-overs. Now one has made its way to my room! The best blanket for THE best price!!

Nancy ma belle!

I am thrilled that you received the Faeriemaiden...I do hope you won't have to cut too much from the paper to make it fit. Thanks for your well wishes for school. I have 50 kids now to teach English to and French social studies and science which I can do with my eyes closed; it is the DENSE and very prescribed English curriculum that is blurring my vision and head at the moment! Deep waters, here I come!

HAVE A FAB WEEKEND! Bisous, Anita

Every time I see pictures of your lovely home, I remember so fondly our visit. You have a touch that is truly -- I don't know how else to put this -- magical and romantic. It's in your blood, and oh how fortunate are those who know you.
Love from your brother,
Ruben
