It's a quiet Sunday evening here. I've finished organizing for the week and I had down time to enjoy my home. This isn't something I've been able to do lately, so I'm grateful for it tonight. I took out my camera and snapped a few shots I thought you might enjoy.
Isn't this a great leaf? It curled up and now I'm using it as a candle holder for my candle holder.
I light candles every evening as dusk arrives. It brings sanity to the end of the day.
A lovely bust I've had forever. The green mums in the vase have lasted three weeks. I recently read on Corey's blog that you never give mums as a gift in France. They are considered a funeral flower!
Sorry for the spotty blogging lately. I haven't had much to share and it's been a busy time. I hope you all have a great week!

We light the candles every evening too in this season. When we had diner I'm making coffee and my husband lights the candles and lights the fire in the wood stove. I like these days of autumn and winter, though I really think that winter should be gone by January 1st, but hey nobody listens to me! Have a nice week!

How lovely that you thought to use the leaf for a candle holder! Every leaf is a work of art, when we see how each one is different. Sometimes I see it, and sometimes I'm too wrapped up in 'life' to appreciate the fact. I think you have inspired me to really see today.

I love mums I guess for the first time in my life I am glad I don’t live in France.
For me it is the carnation, it is the one flower that will never bring a smile to my face.

Nancy I just couldn't pass this one by without commenting. I light a candle every morning at breakfast for the same reasons you do in the evening. It calms and centers me.....But that darling bust (You know how I am about those *winks) stopped me dead in my tracks....She's so lovely! And juxtaposed with the fresh green and gold.....I'm learning from you my friend *winks* Thank you for the lessons in beauty, both in your images (which are truly art) and your beautiful writing.
